SAFE AND STABLE
Foods and beverages, ingredients for functional foods and pharmaceutical excipients often contain sensitive substances. In order to protect valuable components like vitamins, mineral complexes and enzymes as well as possible, we encapsulate them with the help of fluidised bed technology. If desired, microencapsulation can be more than just a coating around a sensitive product core. The protective matrix can control the release of substances and protect them from undesirable effects of temperatures, oxidation and odour development. The goal is to enclose them in such a way that they release their effects in the desired place or at the desired time.
In microencapsulation (coating) we cater to individual wishes. We make suitable protective coatings from aqueous solutions of maltodextrin, dextrose, cellulose, shellac, polymer compounds or other substances, depending on the application. This lets us improve and enhance the characteristics of products in many ways. Advantages at a glance:
Products with plant extracts or amino acids
Sample application
The stable encapsulation of the particles reduces or prevents contact with moisture, and protects against undesired oxidation through ambient oxygen or other components of your product. This improves storage stability. In addition, coating improves pourability and dosing. Undesirable odours and tastes can also be masked by a functional coating. This is particularly beneficial from the consumer perspective, especially in foods.
Granulates for direct consumption
Sample application
A coating makes it possible to control the release of the ingredients contained, by a defined pH or temperature, time-based (retarded) or mechanically. The protective coating makes the ingredients resistant to acids like stomach acid. This permits controlled release in the gastrointestinal tract at the desired time, which can be an important factor in pharmaceutical and medical diet products.
