Around 100,000 “colleagues” make our own company honey.
Two beehives reside on the 10,000 square metre flower meadow on our grounds, under the care of an employee and amateur beekeeper. On average they make 40 kilograms of sweet, delicious honey each year. The entire SternMaid team enjoys the “Honeymaid” honey we package in 125 g jars.

Transparency is important to us, and in our employee magazine STERNMAIDaktuell we regularly report on what’s going on. This starts with planned investments and strategic topics, goes on to feature insights into our equipment and the technical know-how behind it, and includes events like our regular fireside chats and summer parties. It all centres on our employees, for they are the heart of our company.

We have interesting prospects for experienced leaders as well as career starters. The Chamber of Industry and Commerce IHK zu Schwerin has recognised us as a “TOP Training Company” several years in a row.
Job and family go well together with us, and we’ve been recognised for this multiple times.
The Wifög (Wirtschaftsfördergesellschaft Südwest-Mecklenburg) in our region has also certified SternMaid as a “Family-Friendly Employer.” This quality seal underscores our culture of people-oriented HR policies, that take into account the different life phases of our staff.

Numerous sculptures by artist Christel Lechner decorate our company grounds in Wittenburg, including a group of SternMaid people relaxing around a table after work. Visitors often sit down in the unoccupied chairs at the table. Perhaps you too will come here and take a selfie!
After school I started an apprenticeship as a Food Technology Specialist at SternMaid, and was hired full-time upon completion. There was also a scholarship as a reward for good performance, for further education outside the company. Today I’m responsible for a team. What I especially like? Despite how big we’ve grown, the company still has a family touch.
